Gangetic leaffish (Gedgedi-গেদগেদী)

The Gangetic Leaffish, locally known as "Gedgedi" or "গেদগেদী", is a fascinating freshwater fish species found in the rivers and streams of the Indian subcontinent, particularly in the Ganges and Brahmaputra river basins. Scientifically named Nandus nandus, this unique fish is characterized by its distinctive leaf-like appearance, which serves as excellent camouflage among aquatic vegetation.
